Swiss Biotech Center’s CEO since its creation in 2015 Massimo trained at the University of Lausanne, where he obtained his PhD in biology. His focus on Life Sciences initiatives and he is committed to enhancing and developing this sector.
With a diploma in biomedical analysis technician, obtained in Geneva, a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences from the HES-SO Valais/Wallis and a Master’s degree in life sciences, with a focus on Bioprocess & Bioconversion, Adolfo held a research assistant position at the HES-SO Valais/Wallis, before joining the Swiss Biotech Center as Scientific Officer in 2019, puis Head of R&D in 2021.
After a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at the Hes-So Valais/Wallis, combined with a thesis in Japan, and a Master’s degree in Applied Biosciences at the Hes-So du Jura, Robin Mareschal started his career at Merck as a USP technician, which allowed him to get acquainted with pharmaceutical production and more particularly with cGMP standards. Since 2021, he is Scientific Officer at the Swiss Biotech Center.
Alexandra started out at the Laboratoire de Biologie du Cancer et de l’Infection in the CEA of Grenoble, then moved to PX’Therapeutics for 1 year. Then, at the Institut de biologie structurale (IBS), in the Extremophiles and large molecular assemblies group, she stayed for 2 years, during which she also took part in the creation of start-ups, as an R&D engineer. She then joined ExcellGene as Laboratory Technician, Downstream Process (DSP). In 2023, she joined the Swiss Biotech Center as Scientific Officer.
With a Master’s degree in Pharmacology, Elodie started her career by immersing herself in R&D, with a significant focus on toxicology at Hoffmann-La Roche and Novartis in Basel. Transitioning to EPFL, she assumed the role of Technical Specialist for five years, continuing her emphasis on cell culture and molecular biology. In 2024, she joined the Swiss Biotech Center as a Scientific Officer.
Jeanne, after completing an apprenticeship as a laboratory technician in biology and obtaining a technical professional maturity, began her career in the field of adult stem cells at the Faculty of Life Sciences at EPFL and the Experimental Surgery department at CHUV in Lausanne. She then worked at the Nestlé Research Center and the Forensic Genetics Units at CURML. In 2014, she helped set up the CordSavings laboratory – Stem Cell Biobank, before managing the laboratory for 7 years. In 2024, she joined the Swiss Biotech Center as a Senior Laboratory Technician.
After his studies in biotechnology and biomolecular engineering, Steffen obtained his PhD at the Technical University of Darmstadt in the field of biochemistry focusing on pH‑switchable mono- and bispecific antibodies and antibody fragments. In 2020, he joined the HES-SO Valais/Wallis where he was responsible for an Innosuisse-project focusing on high density cell banks and perfusion-based bioreactors up to 200 L for CHO cells. In 2024, he joined the SBC as Scientific Officer.
Aline started with a preparatory internship at the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne in microbiology, molecular biology, cell culture, immunology and histology. She continued with a Bachelor’s degree in life technology with biotechnology as an option. After joining Swiss Biotech Center in 2019, as Scientific Officer , Aline is now evolving as QA Engineer.
With a PhD in industrial pharmacy from the University of Tours and a diploma from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Tours (Health Industry Management), Catherine has been working in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. Her varied experience has led her to manage quality assurance for a range of 30 generic drugs, and to build and manage a 200-strong production site. In 2020, she joined Swiss Biotech Center in the fields of quality management and regulatory compliance. Catherine is also a GMP trainer and auditor.
After starting out in Chemical Purchasing in Geneva, Frédérique switched to Communication in 2013. Dynamic and versatile, she has enriched her career by working in several sectors of activity (tourism, health, energy). Today, it is committed to promoting the life sciences.
